The Journal of Informatics and Advanced Data Science (JIADS) is published by the Informatics Institute for Postgraduate Studies, Iraq, and operates through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform at jiads.iips.edu.iq.

How We Use Your Data

Author data is used to manage manuscript submissions, facilitate the peer review process, communicate editorial decisions, and publish accepted articles (name and affiliation are included in published papers).

Reviewer data is used solely to manage review assignments and communicate review-related information. Reviewer identities are kept strictly confidential and are never disclosed to authors.

Website data is used in aggregated, anonymous form to understand usage patterns, improve the journal website, and report statistics. Individual visitor data is not shared with third parties.

We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal data to third parties. Data is not used for advertising or commercial purposes of any kind.

Data Retention

Personal data of registered users (authors, reviewers, editors) is retained for as long as the account remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter to maintain editorial records. Published article metadata (author names, affiliations) is retained permanently as part of the scientific record.

Users may request deletion of their account and associated personal data at any time, subject to the journal’s obligation to maintain the integrity of the scientific record. Published article metadata cannot be removed.

Crossref — Used for DOI registration. Article metadata (title, authors, DOI) is submitted to Crossref and becomes publicly available. See crossref.org/privacy.

Google Scholar — Article metadata is indexed by Google Scholar for discoverability. See Google Privacy Policy.

Open Journal Systems (OJS) — The journal operates on the OJS platform developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). See PKP Privacy Policy.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include secure HTTPS connections, access controls, and regular security reviews of the OJS platform.
